Citizens of Ukraine will be able to travel in EU without visasOn April 6th, 2017 the European Parliament voted to abolish visas for Ukrainian citizens. Now Ukrainians will be able to travel across Europe without visas every half year for up to 90 days.
At the meeting of the European Parliament for the inclusion of Ukraine in the list of the countries to whose citizens the visa-free regime applies, 521 deputies voted, 75 were against, 36 - abstained.
According to preliminary data, citizens of Ukraine will be able to travel to EU countries without visas in June. Only formal procedures remained: the voting for the abolition of visas for Ukrainians in the Committee of Permanent Representatives (COREPER), then - in the EU Council of Ministers, must pass. The President of the European Parliament and the chairman of the EU Council from Malta must sign the document in May. On the 20th day after the promulgation of the document, the decision on the abolition of visas will take effect.
