May 9th Celebration in Bulgaria

This year's celebration of the 9th of May in Bulgaria is planned to be quite large. All regions of Bulgaria will participate in the celebration, and many cities will host special events. Many public organizations take part in these events to make this celebration even lighter and solemn.
The “Georgievska ribbon” campaign is launched at the end of April, with ribbons available at the Russian Cultural and Information Center, Embassy of the Russian Federation, Arbat restaurants and the Russian “Berezka” chain of stores. The ribbons will also be available at all events dedicated to the May 9th celebration.
On May 1st will start the motocross, which will last until May 9th. Bulgarian motorcyclists participate together with motorcyclists from Russia, Belarus, Poland, etc. The route is as follows: Sofia-Belgrade-Budapest-Bratislava-Brno-Prague-Decin-Dresden-Torgau-Seelow-Berlin. In Budapest, the Bulgarian column will connect with a column of motorcyclists starting from Moscow, Minsk and Warsaw and all will go together to Berlin.
On May 3 th there will be a concert dedicated to the Victory Day in the Russian Cultural and Information Center.
On May 7th there will be the 5th Festival of Russian Song, dedicated to the Victory Day in the Bulgarian town Polski Trambesh.
On May 8th and 9th there will be festive concerts, film screenings, meetings with veterans, thematic lessons in schools, holidays in Russian clubs, as well as Ceremonies for laying wreaths and flowers to mass graves, memorable monuments and places related to the events of World War II will take place.
The Immortal Regiment of descendants of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War will visit 37 settlements in Bulgaria
Particular attention will be paid to the veterans with gala dinners and concerts where music will be played out of the war years.
In the big hall of the Russian Cultural and Information Center will be held musical-literary composition "Immortal Regiment" performed by the National Artist of Russia S.P. Nicolenko and the music duet "Drugoy mir" - the award-winning Russian artist Alexander Marchakovski (balalaika-prima) and the laureate of international competitions Anton Zhukov (balalaika-alt).
